The Charlotte Copperheads have announced that they have franchise tagged former Boston Blazer Ryan Hotaling. Hotaling played two NLL seasons, but with the Boston Blazers. Last year he played 16 games, scoring 2 goals and 4 assists. His rookie season he had 5 goals and 6 assists. Hotaling is the first player to be signed by Charlotte.
The move reunites him with his former coach in Boston, Tom Ryan. When asked about Hotaling, coach Ryan said, "“he has proven himself as one of the top draw men in the game. He is a very versatile player and an even better teammate. He is a selfless individual and someone I am proud to have as a franchise player on the inaugural Copperheads' Squad.”
Hotaling was also a member of the US indoor team that played in the world championships in Prague this summer, as well as the Rochester Rattlers of the MLL. The Copperheads first home game is January 28 vs. the Hershey Haymakers. Check out the website for ticket information.
